Hi.
It is correct that iD hides features if there are too many to be
displayed, but when it does it also prevents mappers from using the
presets which are currently hidden. Because of this and the fact that
it is very difficult to actually map a building in a zoomed-out map
view, I think it is unlikely the root cause of buildings being
remapped.
