you can't find GPS devices before departure, let me know via which cities you'll be travelling in September: Kinshasa? Goma? There are several organisations which could potentially lend you a few GPS units if your data can help them in their mission afterwards. It will of course depend on the availability of their devices at that time, but it can be an option to consider.</div>

I joined because I am doing a mapping initiative for my master of architecture thesis and wanted to see what I can learn from and contribute to the group. I am partnering with a university in the city of Beni in the eastern DR Congo to map their city and also map a specific theme that students are interested in. I'm heading over there in September and staying for three months. </div>
