[Imports-us] Welcome and Next Steps

Thanks everyone for joining the US Import Committee Mailing List,

I wanted to give a couple of days for folks to join and it looks like
we have a good bunch of experienced mappers, along with some folks
who've expressed interest in doing imports, so it'll be good for them
to see how the process starts to form.

As we discussed on our Google+ meeting, I think the next step should
be to open up and ask the US community about imports its interested
in. Once we have a sense of the size of the work ahead of us, we can
start to tackle it.

I'd also like to start work on an import guideline document, but I'd
prefer if the document be born out our practical experience. That will
let us be more effective, and not weigh ourselves down needlessly
early on.

But I'm interested to hear what others thing about this approach, what
other thought they have and if there are better ways that we might
start?
