[Imports] Mass Bus Data

Ok, so im pretty sure it's changesets 9027110<http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/9027110> & 9027101<http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/9027101> that are bad, and changeset 9026906 is good. Would reverting 9027110 and then 9027101 do the trick?

Thanks, but I meant the OSM.XML file in which you've already merged the 170 nodes (a bit of work!). I'd be glad to take a look at it and help you resolve this, but I won't have any time to do so today. Don't worry about this not being resolved immediately, better to take a few days and make sure it's done right, the world won't end to have some duplicate bus stops for a few days.

ok the osm file is on the wiki on the MassDOT page, but for reference, it's http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37626989/mbtabus.osm.zip and I'm merging it into the 170 bus nodes that are already there using the method on the talk page of the MassDOT article. The change sets in question are http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/massDOT/edits these three. If nobody has a better idea I can role back the 3(yes 3 some how) change sets, and re do it, or use the validator plug in (just got marc's email.

(Note, NOT going to do anything myself right now don't worry), thank you for your help guys.

I'd wait until someone more knowledgeable than I responds, but I'd say to revert those two changesets, then before uploading again split the 8000+ node file into maybe four parts.

It would help if you shared a link to the relevant changesets, and it would be super if you could share the OSM.XML file you're trying to upload, so others can take a look at it and see if there are any problems.

Thanks for keeping communication open. Even some of the most seasoned OSM contributors have had problems like this, the important thing is to communicate and follow up.

So I went to upload/merge the bus data, and everything went fine, except for where JOSM ran out of ram and crashed twice. and now after I'm done It seems I uploaded all the nodes twice. How do I fix this with out making it worse.

Josh,

Is your code anywhere folks like me can help work on it?

You mean for the JOSM conflation plugin? It's linked on the wiki, and in OSM SVN:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Conflation/Nodes
http://trac.openstreetmap.org/browser/applications/editors/josm/plugins/conflation

Be warned that it needs a lot of work, but it at least draws lines between matched objects, and the cost/weight function can be improved easily. Most work lies in adapting the conflict resolution dialog to work, or creating a new dialog, perhaps something like the following but with left/right arrows for choosing values:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM/Plugins/TextTransform#Changing_key_name

I'd be glad to get help on this.
