I just follow the imports guidelines.

I agree completely. Thank you. I will add that to the workflow wiki.

If you mean that source and source:date are both in the nodes and the
changeset, it's true. This discussion about the convenience of the
source tag in the data to import is coming over and over, and we never
reach a consensus. I am among the ones that consider convenient to add
the source tag to objects. I do that on a daily basis with all my mapping.

The fixme tag would affect an small subset of those 24,000+ nodes.

I guess the best we can ask if for users to use the tag for info and
remove it before uploading.

Yes. They are indeed very common. I will add the most complete set of
abbreviations to the final script so users will find as few as possible
of those abbreviations. Being 24,000+ nodes, it's really difficult to
correct all of them.
