Hi Christoph and the Imports list,

in the DigitalGlobe Premium layer we have made available for OSM, our
intention is to publish a global imagery layer. For sake of transparency,
we are about 70% complete. Over the next few months, the rest of the
imagery will populate in the layer and we will notify the community. The
next region that will be updated is SE Asia and China. This includes
Thailand and all the surrounding countries. Please understand these are
massive datasets and the delay in timing is only due to logistics of
"ingesting" massive raster files (in the Petabytes of size). Our estimated
timeframe is late/end of May for Thailand and the rest of SE Asia to be
available, at which time, you and the entire OSM community will have access
to the exact same data that Facebook has been using.

Let me know if this clarifies.
