Hi Ashlyn, thank you for reaching out to the community about your
datasets. It's good that you're familiarizing yourself with OSM editing,
regardless of which editor you're using. You're probably getting a sense
of how much OSM's data model differs from typical GIS datasets. :-)
The previous responses explain some of the steps and considerations for
carrying out an import of this data yourself. Our community is largely
volunteer-led, so there's both an opportunity and often an assumption
that you'd take an active role in adding the data to the map. It would
be wonderful if you're willing to do that, but if not, it's still
wonderful that you're letting the local community know they have
permission to import it on your behalf. That's usually a big hurdle to
clear.
It looks like addresses for Benton and Washington counties were
systematically imported from a state dataset back in 2011. [1]
Additionally, your department's address points were imported last year,
along with building footprints from the state, but only for the portion
of Springdale in Washington County. [2] The latter import was carried
out by a Fayetteville-based volunteer; perhaps you could get in touch
with them about continuing the import in the Benton County part of
Springdale? [3]
Finally, there haven't been many centerline imports in OSM, due to the
difficulty of conflating with the TIGER import and all the cleanup that
has taken place since then. However, you could open an issue in the
OpenAddresses centerlines repository about your dataset, which will make
the dataset more discoverable to anyone who wants to use it as a source
for surface types and such. [5]
