It is entirely normal to discover during such discussion that OSM Wiki had confusing/
badly worded/misleading descriptions.
Sometimes updating or extending OSM Wiki documentation takes large part of such
effort (it happened to me few times when I was adding new functionality).
Self-contradictory description at OSM Wiki is one of reasons why discussing very
large edits before doing them is a good idea.
And yes, https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:addr:place would benefit from clarifying
what is claimed there.
