    Since it is being debated all the time this should be considered an
open question even though current documentation states that addresses
on areas are to be avoided at all costs. The Italian legislation on
housembers does not meet the requirements in OSM, where addresses also
apply to POIs like shops, which can be mapped as areas. There is some
movement on this issue, such as the initiative to promote the Bremen
schema, but it is an evolving subject. I feel the need to ask not to
take advantage imports to do that. That said…

    That’s okay for me because this item doesn't carry POI information.

    In this regard I suggest to adopt old_addr: instead of was:addr: for
obsolete addresses:
