OK so they are both "official channels" in the sense that they are operated
by the OSMF, but until this recent change "the place where imports are
required to post" was the import mailing list (that is why we are having
this discussion, right?).  My point remains, if someone really cared, why
wouldn't they subscribe to the place where "imports are required to post"
as then they would have a high likelihood of hearing about and commenting
on proposed imports?
