Great work, thanks. I tried it and it is much friendlier to work with 
than the old "shift N-shift N-shift N... to eternity" :-) mode.
One other issue it would be nice to resolve (again, in connection to the 
"adjacent areas" subject): currently if you have two ways with shared 
nodes, you can only select the first (top?) way when clicking on the 
shared nodes. The other way can only be selected by using "select-area" 
tool and then taking a guess which of the two ways in the list is the 
one you want. And also, sometimes you event don't know there are two 
ways at the same place, so it would be useful if JOSM indicated this 
somehow.
