[josm-dev] problems with saving files in JOSM

Okey, just to complicate the issue a little bit more :). What I wrote about
saving problems occurs on my Vista machine. Now I tried the latest version
of JOSM on XP and there are differences in behaviour:
1. on XP it saves file OK, so the changes get recorded even if the file
existed previously
2. it doesn't create a backup file (on Vista it does) - I looked for a JOSM
setting for this and couldn't find any

As I'm no expert on Java in combination with Windows, I'm wondering:
- is this a Vista issue?
- is this a "different JRE versions" issue?
- does JOSM "look and feel" have any influence on this?
- or is it an internal JOSM issue?

Regards,
Igor
