in opposite to David I still see that problem. And looking at the last
OSM user meeting at Munich it January it was one of the most discussed
problem regaring JOSM (not to say THE most discussed topic regarding JOSM).
Personaly it happens too often when I edit someting alreday present that
unfortunately I move it instead only selecting it. => [CTRL]-Z is my
best friend and got one of the most use keyboard short cuts using JOSM
for me... :-(
My personal point of viewis: modes regarding select and move should be
split again as it was before the "modeless" versions.
For me it makes no difference weather alway pressing a modifier key or
changing modes => both are a key strike. But: forgetting the modifier
key happens often - too often by myself. And additionally for me there
is always the question "which modifier key has to be pressed?".Is it
[CTRL], or is it [ALT] or [Shift] or "whatever"... This has to be found
out by reading the hint text at the screen. But reading is slow in my
point of view instead of "blind" pressing keys to change the mode.
Best regards,
Michael.
