Usually thats not a good idea. Sometimes bugs are regressions.
And some of the old still open suggestions are still valid. I already
closed a large bunch of the stuff "no longer relevant".
E.G. I would like to have the "virtual vertices" option: A virtual node in
the middle of two street nodes, which becomes a real node as soon as it is
dragged around. Would make new nodes in a way much easier. Bug 595.
