If anyone uses Eclipse on a Mac to develop (like me ;-) you can set  
the default line delimiter to Unix-style in the Eclipse-Preferences  
(General->Workspace, lower right)

I think (but not sure) Mac OS X uses Unix style by default because of  
BSD Unix System Base, but older Apps (like Textedit) may handle this  
different.
