It's not about extra functionality, just about the bare basics to behave 
nicely at the moment. See my other reply from 5 minutes ago for details.

Let me guess: "java -Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=true"? That's the same 
technique I use, just I set the property from inside. But that's just 
one if 10 changes (look into the trac ticket for details).
