Oh no, not just another UNIX fanboy trying to explain this world to us.

If roughly 90% of desktop users around this world are using Windows, 
what is this "real world" you are actually talking about?

P.S: Over the last 15 years I've personally experienced enough "cross 
platform UNIX issues" between Linux, HP-UX, Solaris and other UNIX 
variants you may not even ever heard before ...
