I think the obligation is on you to show that this is the case.
There's a world of difference between "good changeset comments are
helpful, useful, valuable" (which is pretty much true by definition,
if the comment wasn't "helpful, useful, valuable", it wouldn't be
"good") and "a large majority of the community *will* view people's
edits as 'less cooperative'" if they don't provide a good changeset
comment (with what, every edit, 10% of edits, 5% of edits?).

I asked you for your username, because I wanted to see what you
consider to be a good changeset comment. It never struck me that you
might not actually consider your own changeset comments to be good.
