Maybe some dots next to the node resembling dotted line stubs?

(In case the ASCII graphics does not look correct: The dots should be vertically aligned with the 'o'.)

The direction of the dots is not necessarily related to the invisible objects. I guess there should be more than 2 dots in different directions, but I could not draw this in ASCII.
