I guess it ought to be possible with a bit if work to put in an offset
for this. I guess this method hasn't been used that much so far.
Incidentally, at least checking the calibration is important, and iirc
it does take this number into account already. If you don't calibrate
the points can end up in the wrong places as you get further into the
track.
