[josm-dev] JOSM donations?

Hello,

JOSM is used very actively, but we have not a single cent to spend on 
something related to JOSM. Thus I had the idea to add a donation button on 
the webpages to improve this situation.

Things for which possible donations could be used:
  * awards for implementing enhancements, fixing bugs
  * awards for improving translations
  * better SSL certificate
  * own server
  * ...

I already added voting plugin to the page, so we can get statistics for 
the first point.

I don't expect much money as result from this, but maybe it is enough to 
give us some more possibilities when the current josm team can't implement 
good ideas.

If there are larger donations, they must still be handled using FOSSGIS 
and similar institutions (with a note like "to be used for JOSM") as 
legal situation allows only handling a small amount without to much 
bureaucracy (and taxes) when you aren't an official nonprofit association.

Currently my plan would be to implement Flattr and a PayPal donation 
button (if possible not to prominently on every page, otherwise only on 
startup page).

I think one major rule for spending the money should be, that none of the 
established JOSM staff (especially me) gets any money and at least 
Frederik (if he wants to be involved), Sebastian and me need to agree on 
spending it.

Comments about this idea are welcome.
