[josm-dev] Plugin development guidance

Hi

I'm completely fresh to JOSM plugin development, and its been forever since I've 
written Java, anyway some questions...

Investigating about how much work it would take to implement the following, just 
assuming good proficiency in JOSM.

+ Group together GPS Traces in the Layers Panel

+ New plugin to generate statistics on individual or groups of GPX files ... 
Speed Profile, Distance Profile, by hour/day of week, overall, etc
+ Expand the Elevation plugin to work on multiple GPX files

Thoughts on how to go about this, estimated difficulty, appreciated.
