Yes that is possible. We simply need to define a rule consisting of two
conditions. There are some examples included in default style. Most active
user of this is the FreieTonne style.

We need to choose one set, and as the majority of developers and users is
German, we use these. There are alternative styles (e.g. for GB), but it
seems interest is low. I think most users understand the idea of
abstraction and simply accept any symbol as long as it makes sense.
