JOSM Grid

Is this an unoticed feature? Adding the --debug option to start JOSM, a grid is showed with some cache statistics + zoom level. 

It would be interesting to have instructions to show only the grid. And the best would be to be able to have this Grid option in and out with a key shortcut.
 I find this grid feature very helpfull when I edit an area and want to process more systematically to cover all the area.
