It was made to talk because it's universal practice (like, since about  
1635 AD on Usenet) to crosspost when requesting that followups go  
somewhere else, so that people don't miss the discussion.

It was made to legal-talk, rather than legal-general, because it's a  
serious issue that hugely affects the new licence being considered by  
OSM.

And while on the subject, it would perhaps have been a _little_ polite  
to contact the legal-talk admin before setting up the new list, too.  
But, whatever. Maybe we need a new listwanking list.
