No comments on that by anyone? Rob, Gervase - you're the ones who are  
most outspoken about copyleft, would such a solution seem acceptable  
to you, or do you need copyleft to the bitter end?

Speaking of it, if we were not to set an "everything is PD from that  
time on" timeout, when exactly would a license/contract combo like  
we're discussing stop? I think there are different timeouts in  
database law and copyright, and still other rules apply to contracts.  
Do such contracts remain valid after a party has died, for example?
