[OSM-legal-talk] PD vs SA: The eternal battle

Mentioning Apple is not a good example because the bulk of intellectual
property is produced by small companies / individuals. If authors,
publishers and other small companies need to expend time and money
evaluating a complicated license, it's less likely that they will have
anything kind to say about OSM.

If we have a good PD database that gets incorporated into a variety of other
(commercial) mapping products, people will flock here in order to make sure
their favorite locations gets mapped.
