As you know the foundation and others are currently taking expert legal
advice at present to see if the licence can be codified in ways that
addresses just these concerns within a share-alike framework. When this work
is done the foundation will come back to the list. As you know ITO is also
taking separate advice on the same issues to compliment and support this
effort and will also come back soon. I understand that other parties are
also doing so but are being quieter about it.
My concern on this list at present is that all the discussion about PD/SA
politics is making this process harder. Please please can the PD advocates
get their own list (within OSM or outside) and take their valuable political
conversation there because it is almost impossible to talk about finessing
the requirements and legals for a SA licence against the backdrop of the
'eternal PD/SA debate'.
