Hm, I see that the license text itselfs speaks of "Original Author". 
Which makes sense, because in the terms of the license, if you make a 
change to a node, then you have crated a derived work, and you must 
credit the original author... ;-)

What about:

"you can do what you like with the data, so long as you mention the 
original author in a fashion that is reasonable for the medium you are 
using. Most people in OpenStreetMap assume that it is generally *not* 
reasonable to include a list of tens of thousands of contributors, and 
just credit OpenStreetMap as a whole."

This is actually far more explicit than I wanted to be...
