I am pleased to report that the UK trademark for the OpenStreetMap
logo was transferred to the foundation on 15 July 2009 (a few days
after the conference).
I note that the UK trademark application for the word 'OpenStreetMap
is still in Steve's name but was refused on 7 May 2009. I suggest
that this doesn't matter any more.
What does concern me is that the EU trademark application for the word
'OpenStreetMap' that is marked as a 'new application' is still shown
in SteveC's personal name. I emailed the secretary (Andy Robinson) and
the chairman (Steve Coast) about this a week ago and have not received
a response yet, hence this post.
Can anyone provide an update of the situation regarding this EU
application? Was the transfer paperwork for this trademark signed at
the conference or is further work on this one still required? If so,
then when will this happen?
I have updated the details of all trademarks applications here:
