Indeed, a, er, happy afternoon tracking these down has indicated that all, with the possible exception of Australian Bureau of Statistics suburb and other boundaries, can be traced back explicitly to Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Australia licence http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.5/au/legalcode

I used http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Catalogue#Community_Imports as my initial source. I still have some question marks below. Any help on resolving them would be greatly appreciated.

Indeed, any help filling in our Import Catalogue with links pointing directly to an actual license or authoritative description would greatly speed the work of the License Working Group.

QLD DCDB-lite Queensland Castradal boundaries - CC-BY 2.5 Australia

ABS Australian Bureau of Statistics, suburb and other boundaries - one place says CC-BY-SA another says Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 Australia ... cannot find confirmation on ABS website http://www.abs.gov.au/AUSSTATS/abs@.nsf/Lookup/1259.0.30.002Main+Features12006?OpenDocument seems to be the starting point.
