while I have very much enjoyed your ode to freedom, I’m asking myself if OpenStreetMap is maybe bound not only to the law where it has its seat but also where its community is located (i.e. every country where a contributor is)

Maybe the local chapters are even stronger ties to different countries and their jurisdiction?
