One of minor help pages has
"You are '''NOT''' allowed to use pictures with GNU-License like GFDL or GPL"https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Wiki_Help&diff=325499&oldid=325426
I have no idea why we would not be allowed to use such images.
Is there some reason to not allow use of GDFL or GPL images on OSM Wiki?
--------------------------
Yes, I know that it is a relatively poor license for image.
Triggered by comment in
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Wiki#Copyright_violations
Note that we have https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Category:GPL_files
---------------------------
PS: we have thousands of images on OSM Wiki without clearly stated license -
many of them are copyright violations, see
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Category:Media_without_a_license
Help in processing that would be welcomed if anyone is interested
