[Mailman] newbies list subscribe problem

hello,
I tried to subscribe newbies at openstreetmap.org mailing list. I received
confirm mail with cookie. but when I give the cookie string it says bad
string. when i tried logging in to the list it is asking for password. but
while subscribing I had not given any password. i kept that field empty.
Now I can't log in to my subscibed mailing list
