Dear Team Openstreetmap,
High Commission of India in London is in receipt of a complaint regarding incorrect depiction of the map of India on your website https://www.openstreetmap.org/?miat=35.555&mlon=76.465&zoom=5#map=6/34.633/76.794 . It has been observed that the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir are depicted inaccurately .
2. It is underlined that any map of India published for use should contain accurate and reliable information, particularly with regard to the depiction of the external boundaries and coastline of India.
3. The authorized map of India can be downloaded free of cost from the Map & Data section of Survey of India website ( [ http://www.surveyofindia.gov.in/pages/outline-maps-of-india | http://www.surveyofindia.gov.in/pages/outline-maps-of-india ] ) and vector data of India’s International Boundary (IB) can be downloaded from, [ http://www.surveyofindia.gov.in/pages/downloads | http://www.surveyofindia.gov.in/pages/downloads ] .
4. I would request you to publish the correct map of India on your website .
Warm regards,
Shashi Bhushan
Second Secretary (P&I)
High Commission of India
London
