I agree 100%. We should release soon. I think the problematic bits are

- Rendering needing a Qt patch to do anything at all (is this still true?)
- Uploading needing a Qt >4.3.3 version

For the first item maybe we can leave out the Render option from the
menu, unless called with a certain switch?

The second item is more problematic since it is the core functionality of
merkaartor. Maybe we should add a check that if Qt is running with a version
< 4.3.3 then the user at least gets a warning?
