[Merkaartor] merkaartor crash on new iMac

I have Merkaartor running on a macbook pro with 10.6 Snow Leopard, but
it totally refuses to run on my new iMac using the same OS.

When I launch Merkaartor (fresh download) I am immediately presented
with the 'quit unexpectedly' dialog.

Any quick tips for a fix, or do I submit my crash logs/report a bug?

Does this offer a clue?
