The Yahoo Imagery is provided by Yahoo via their API. OpenStreetMap
does not have any agreement regarding availability of the Yahoo API,
we take what they have to offer when its available.
With respect to the OSM API there are times when it falls over and it
can take a few hours to come back up if the volunteers are busy
elsewhere. While we try to maintain full sysadmins cover its not
always practicable. The two main places where you can find information
on the OSM platform status are the main page of the wiki
(http://wiki.openstretmap.org) or on the #OSM channel on IRC
(irc://irc.oftc.net #osm).
Otherwise questions like this are best sent to this Newbies or the
main talk mailing list rather than sending to individuals.
Cheers,
