[OSM-newbies] JOSM - editing of many tags in one go

Select all the ways that you want and then add the relevant tag to them, in one go- its that easy. As long as you don't try and change the tag for the  street name then this will be left unchanged.

  Dear all,

  how can I easily edit the tags of many ways in one go? I have many ways which already have a streetname, but I need to add more tags. It would be easier to download all into, say, one excel table, add all the tags, and then upload. Is such functionality available? Editing one-by-one in JOSM is very inefficient.
