[OSM-newbies] JOSM as offline editor

Hello Dayo,

You're almost there. You need to save as an .osm file if you want to be
able to upload later. If you save as a gpx, it will (I think) strip out
all of your tags, and only leave you with the points and maybe timestamps.

The procedure I use is:
1) Load my gpx track
2) Download existing data to cover my track
3) Make my edits
4) Press the upload button.

If you need to stop somewhere along that path, then just save it as an
.osm file. Then you can reload your gpx and your .osm file and pick up
where you left off.

So your procedure may be:
1) Load your gpx track
2) Download existing data for your area
3) Edit
4) Save as .osm file
5) Quit and do something else for a while
6) Restart JOSM
7) Load your .osm file and gpx file
8) Download your area again to see if there are any confilcts with your edits
9) Upload your data.

Hope that is what you are looking for.

Best Regards,

Adam
