To set a city / suburb create a single node and tag it:

place=city  or   place=suburb   (as appropriate)
name=<The city's / suburb's name>

Hello everyone,

I didn't really get how to set the tag "city" or suburb like for an area
of a city.  Should I apply to all the ways separately or to an area? 
Should this area be just segments or should it be ways?
