[OSM-newbies] importing data

Hi,

I found out about Openstreetmap.org several years ago while living in
Korea. I started uploading my traces (bicycle rides around the
countryside), but then got more involved with making an actual map for
my GPSr. The Garmin map was eventually finished, but I didn't really
get back into OSM until recently.

My question is, is there a way to import a Garmin .img (created from
my own traces and public domain maps) into the OSM database? If not an
.img file, how about the associated .mp file (for use with GPSMapedit)
or even the .kmz file (GoogleEarth) I exported? This would make
mapping that area of Korea a heck of a lot easier. It would be a pain
to have to go back and load all those traces into OSM (though some of
them are already there), clean them up, and convert them to ways.

The data in question can be found at
http://alimamo.blogspot.com/2007/08/more-maps.html if someone wants to
take a stab at getting it done. Or just point me in the direction of
the necessary tools and steps and I could get around to it eventually.

Note: In the Garmin map, everything is just street, data plus some
POIs. There are no road restrictions and only some of the "highways"
are typed as such.

Thanks for the help.

Robert.
