[OSM-newbies] rendering OSM data

If I understand your question correctly then one solution would be to:

1) Download the area you want the map for using osmxapi

2) Open the file in JOSM, (you'll probably need to increase the max memory size that Java uses when starting JOSM)

3) delete one of the pairs of names, and "fix" any other "errors"

4) render the data yourself, (for ease of use I'd recommend Kosmos for the rendering)

i asked about the duplicated data and they told me it is not an error

  >> The reason for the duplicate names on the major roads is that they are
dual carriageways with the sane name on both the parallel roads <<

and the solution was to render the data by myself and though i can control what to take and what to leave ..

  so any ideas ??

  thanks alot
