A speed limit is a maximum allowed velocity for a particular roadway.
It is enforceable in Canada on all motor vehicles, including
motorbikes, and bicycles. If a pedestrian could exceed the speed
limit, they also could possibly be cited.
If a particular mode of transportation can not meet or exceed the
posted limit, it would be up to the user to factor that into their
estimated time enroute.
If a mode of transport can only reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h, any
speed limits below 80 km/h would still be of concern to the
calculations of time enroute for that vehicle.
