[OSM-newbies] how to download maps?

I have the same problem, So I was wondering if some one was able to use this 
tool.
Be aware that the script to run afterwards is a shell script in Linux,

Thanks for this tool.
Unfortunatly there is nothing into the  lower right window?
Zoom and pan work well , nothing from the select button,
I dont see where is my error, any ideas???
