I've come to the conclusion that the gps I'm using is just not up to the job.
The walk we took takes half an hour, and just 71 points registered. I'm
going to buy a new one and start afresh, treating what has gone so far as a
learning curve.
Having downloaded the corresponding area, in which only one road is
registered, there is a fairly close match, but I don't have enough evidence
to show which version of the road is the correct one. It looks as though the
existing road has been mapped by car, so the walking one may be more
accurate, but until I have more faith in my unit I don't feel inclined to
mess with it.
Is it possible to delete the trace I uploaded? I'd like a really clean start.
Anne
