EventLogger works well on both my dad's and brother's TomToms. It writes
straight to a GPX file.

Subject: [OSM-newbies] Recording TomTom tracks
I bought myself a TomTom Go 520 for Christmas, and I've just
discovered http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/TomTom which lists
various bits of add-on software for it that will let me record tracks
for upload to OSM. Since this is infinitely a better idea than
schlepping around my neighbourhood with the Bluetooth GPD plugged into
my phone, I'm pretty keen on doing it; does anyone have any advice on
which of that software is the best to use? NMEALogger looks
encouraging to me; is there any good reason why I shouldn't install
that?
