[OSM-newbies] Error 412 precondition failed

Ok...

So I tried downloading the same area and searching for
the id:xxxxxxxx in JOSM and deleting those points, and
uploading those changes... which worked ok.

Then I reopened the osm file I couldn't upload before,
but it still won't upload. Same error?

There are plenty of other changes to be uploaded at
the same time. Any suggestions?
