[OSM-newbies] mapping party, how

Casually considering a mapping party, it seems to be a rather non-social
event if efficient mapping is the goal. All mappers are sent to
different places with their GPS and afterwards each one sits in front of
a separate computer osmifying the tracks. Oh, well, one person could be
responsible for coffee, pizza, beer, etc.

Any experience of the important points for a mapping party?
