[OSM-newbies] Donation of GPS logs for processing - anybody do this?

About 18 months ago, I drove around parts of the central Birmingham with my
GPS unit recording some logs. I imported them into JOSM, but was overwhemled
with the fiddliness and complexity of the app, and while I didn't want to be
handheld through all the steps (I did follow the wiki and other instructions
best I could) I didn't feel that I could accurately upload the data I'd
recorded without either corrupting or overwriting existing good data.
I'm still willing to upload the data, in fact I still record tracks
occasionally while I'm driving and I'd very much like to upload them (for
example, I also have some (sadly not quite complete) logs from last year's
journey all the way to the French Alps for my holidays, a total of almost a
thousand miles I think, where the GPS software worked and the app didn't
mess up or crash!) I just don't have the time or knowledge of JOSM (or other
submission apps) to competently and confidently upload all this data, so I'm
looking for people to either help or take some of the logs and see what they
can do with them.
There's some obvious errors with some of the Brum stuff - I got caught in a
traffic jam at one point so I got that funny zig-zag line (which the
sirfstar3 chipset is known for, I believe) when I was travelling too slowly
for it to accurately pinpoint where I was going exactly - I'm somewhat sure
I can fix that because I also know the aerial view of the roads quite well
(and it's not rocket science to trace the line using the aerial map
overlay), but again, I need help.
Can't believe I've held off from sending this message in for such a long
time!
I'm also willing to just upload the tracks and let people have a crack at
them, but equally if someone wants to periodically help me then I'd be quite
happy to accept any help offered. (I'm a pretty competent PC user, having
used, owned, built, maintained and repaired the things for over a decade,
and I consider myself to be a fully-immersed ubergeek - I'm just totally
inept when it comes to JOSM, the thing scares me! ;)
Cheers guys,
Christopher
